Day 21 - Rest Day - Namche Bazaar

Today is a free day in Namche Bazaar to do whatever we like. Namche offers a number of shops and restaurants where we can spend the day shopping, eating, drinking tea or chang (the local rice beer)or whatever takes our fancy. I choose to mostly wander round town, stopping for the occasional cup tea, and then sitting around at camp soaking up some sun and warmth.

It almost seems strange to be back in some level of civilization, even though by normal western standards, Namche is still pretty basic.

In the afternoon, we get together to thank our team of Sherpas with tips and the tradition of giving away any items of clothing that we do not want to take home with us.
