The route today is a backtrack of our day 2 route; down the Namche hill to the Dudh Kosi river at Larja, that was so exhausting on the way up, and then along the river, with several crossings of the river on rickety suspension bridges to Phakding.
We have plenty of time and stop frequently at the small villages along the way for cups of tea etc.
It is sad to have left the high mountains behind us, but after more than 3 weeks on the trail getting back to luxurys like being able to take a shower and wear clean clothes will be very welcome.
It is noticeable that we have all lost weight over the course of the trek. Exertion every day and a food supply limited by both logistics and a lack of appetite at high altitude has led to most of us losing more than 15 pounds and we have probably never been fitter.
